What is Dip Tube Cutting Machine
A dip tube cutting machine is typically used in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and household chemical packaging lines to ensure that the internal pickup tubes attached to pumps and sprayers are cut to a consistent length after assembly. That is to say, cut plastic tubes to the correct length.
These tubes (called dip tubes) are attached to spray pumps, lotion bottles, and perfume sprayers. They go inside the bottle to help draw out the liquid.
How It Works
The operator inserts the pump cap (with the uncut tube attached) into a custom-sized sizing hole or mold. Then Applying light pressure hits an internal air switch, triggering a pneumatic cylinder that instantly drives a sharp punch blade to slice the plastic cleanly.
The machine’s job is simple: it trims the tube so it is always the right length for each bottle. This is important because:
- If the tube is too long, it may bend or not fit properly.
- If it is too short, it cannot reach the liquid at the bottom.
In use, the machine quickly and precisely cuts many tubes to the same size, helping factories produce consistent and reliable packaging products.

- Straight Cut (Flat)
A straight cut creates a completely flat, horizontal end profile across the tip of the plastic tube.
- V-Cut (Concave Notch)
A V-cut machine uses a specialized pointed or triangular blade geometry to punch a V-shaped wedge out of the very tip of the tube.

For Straight Cut (Flat)
How it works: The tube relies on being slightly shorter than the bottle height or bending naturally to the side of the bottle base to allow liquid intake.
The Risk: If the tube is cut exactly to the inner height of the container and sits perfectly flat against a completely flat bottle bottom, it can create a suction seal (vacuum lock). This blocks the opening and stops the pump from drawing liquid.
Best Used For:
- High-flow pumps like lion dispensers, soap pumps, and trigger sprayers.
- Thicker liquids or creams where a wider, uniform opening helps high-viscosity product flow more easily.
- Standard household cleaning or daily care packaging.
For V-Cut (Concave Notch)
How it works: The inverted "V" notch acts as a built-in relief channel. Even if the outer edges of the tube rest flush against the absolute bottom of the bottle, the top apex of the "V" notch remains open.
The Benefit: It entirely eliminates the risk of a suction seal, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted liquid suction and optimal drawing performance. It also helps extract nearly 100% of the product, leaving less waste at the bottom.

- Liquid soap or liquid-based formulas where exact tolerances are needed.
- Premium glass or cosmetic bottles with irregular or completely flat inner bases.
