CHOOSE YOUR CLOSURE SETUP

Find the Right Vial Capping Configuration

Match operator involvement, closure tooling and automation to your production requirements.

Manual Crimping Tools

For operator-controlled closure of compatible vial caps. Confirm cap dimensions, tool compatibility and the required crimp finish.

Pneumatic & Electric Crimpers

Assess powered crimping for operator-loaded vials. Match the head, support and settings to the vial and cap combination.

Automatic Capping & Integrated Systems

Review vial transport, cap feeding and closure stations. Specify filling and stoppering separately when planning an integrated line.

An automatic crimping cycle does not necessarily include automatic vial loading, stoppering or cap feeding. Confirm each function in the proposed scope.

VIALS, STOPPERS & CAPS

Match the Machine to Your Closure Components

Assess the complete vial, stopper and cap assembly rather than cap diameter alone.

Aluminum Crimp Caps

Provide cap diameter, height and skirt details. Assess how the tooling forms the aluminum skirt around the vial neck.

Flip-Off Closures

Share the aluminum shell and plastic button design. Confirm tooling clearance and the required finished-cap appearance.

Vial Neck & Flange

Provide neck-finish drawings, flange dimensions and tolerances. Check the support and head alignment with actual vials.

Stopper Fit & Seating

Share stopper dimensions and seating condition before crimping. Confirm whether stopper insertion is manual or separately automated.

Vial Body & Height

Provide body diameter, overall height and filled weight. Assess holders, guides and transfer parts for stable handling.

Multiple Closure Formats

List every vial, stopper and cap combination. Confirm dedicated heads, change parts and adjustment procedures for each format.

FROM PREPARED VIAL TO CRIMPED CLOSURE

How Vial Crimping Works

A typical workflow starts with a properly prepared vial and compatible closure components.

  1. 01

    Prepare & Seat

Present the vial with its stopper properly seated and the compatible cap in place.

  2. 02

    Position & Support

Align and support the vial beneath the matched crimping head.

  3. 03

    Form the Crimp

Run the configured closure cycle to form the cap skirt around the vial neck.

  4. 04

    Check & Transfer

Check cap appearance and the specified closure criteria before discharge.

Filling, stopper insertion and cap placement may be manual or automated depending on the configuration. Visual checks alone do not establish container closure integrity.

KEY SELECTION POINTS

What to Confirm Before Choosing a Vial Crimper

Provide these six details to define tooling, handling and practical output.

Vial Drawings & Samples

Share neck-finish and body dimensions, height and tolerances. Provide actual vials for tooling and handling assessment.

Cap & Stopper Specifications

Provide material, dimensions and drawings for both components. Include representative samples of the complete closure assembly.

Closure Method & Acceptance Criteria

Define the required crimp appearance and measurable closure criteria. Agree on sample testing and acceptance methods before selection.

Output & Operator Involvement

State vials per minute or hour and loading arrangements. Specify cap feeding, stopper insertion and format-change needs.

Change Parts & Adjustment

Confirm crimping heads, vial holders, guides and transfer parts for each SKU. Review setup and changeover requirements.

Environment, Utilities & Layout

Provide installation conditions, power and air supply where needed. Specify cleaning access and any project-specific material or documentation requirements.

COMPLETE LINES & CUSTOMIZED SOLUTIONS

Integrate Vial Capping into Your Filling Workflow

Coordinate vial preparation, filling and closure around your product and production needs.

Vial Feeding & Preparation

Plan vial supply, sorting and transfer. Define any separate washing or preparation stages required by your process.

Product Filling

Match dosing equipment to viscosity, fill quantity and product characteristics. Coordinate filling output with the closure station.

Stopper Feeding & Insertion

Specify stopper presentation and insertion where needed. Confirm compatibility, seating control and the scope of the proposed station.

Cap Feeding & Placement

Assess cap sorting, delivery and placement for the selected closure. Confirm handling of aluminum and flip-off cap designs.

Crimping & Closure Checks

Match the crimping station to the components and target output. Specify any additional inspection or rejection functions separately.

Coding, Labeling & Discharge

Plan batch coding, vial labeling and downstream handling. Coordinate transfer parts and line layout for the finished vials.

VIAL CAPPING & CRIMPING FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about closure compatibility, tooling and automation.

Are vial crimping and screw capping the same process?
No. Crimping forms a compatible metal cap skirt around the vial neck. Screw capping tightens a threaded closure. Provide the actual vial and cap design so the correct closure method can be assessed.
Can one head handle different cap diameters?
Do not assume that it can. Different diameters or cap designs may require dedicated crimping heads and support parts. Confirm each component combination and its changeover requirements.
Can the same machine handle aluminum and flip-off caps?
This depends on the cap geometry, crimping head and available clearance. Supply both cap types with matching vials and stoppers for compatibility assessment.
Does a vial capper also insert the stopper?
Not necessarily. Standalone crimpers normally receive prepared vials with stoppers and caps already positioned. Stopper feeding and insertion must be specified separately.
Does automatic crimping include cap feeding?
Not always. Automatic may describe the closure cycle alone. Confirm vial loading, cap sorting, placement and discharge individually for the selected configuration.
Does a good-looking crimp prove closure integrity?
No. Appearance checks do not replace the specified closure-performance tests. Define acceptance criteria and suitable testing for the actual vial, stopper and cap assembly.
What information should I send for selection?
Send vial, stopper and cap drawings and samples, target output, closure criteria, required automation, SKU changes, installation conditions and line layout.
